The Creation Story

My background in the insurance industry is managing the administration around the sales process for advisers. Although the “paper stuff” is an imperative side of the business, I quickly worked out that the formalities of paperwork and compliance are not strong skill sets of successful advisers, nor something they enjoy.

My ‘lightbulb moment’ came when I watched individual advisers leave the corporate office I was working in to set up their own insurance practices. They were great advisers and sales people – but administration was not their strong point! I decided that there was an opportunity to take the processing portion of a sale and make it into a business – helping advisers ‘sort out their stuff’.  SOS was formed and launched in 2013.  Since then SOS has grown and continues to grow.  We take pride in providing an accessible, professional, streamlined business that enables an adviser to concentrate on what they do best –providing advice.

I started my working life in the big city corporate world as a personal assistant. My roles were very diverse taking me through the exciting and dynamic industries of Travel and Advertising, moving into the more conservative Banking and Finance areas before ending up in the very flamboyant world of Cosmetics and Perfumes!

One thing I’ve learned through these roles is that a good process and delivery on promises as a business are key components to success…regardless of which arena you work in.

After raising a family, I re-entered the workforce in the financial services industry where I have been involved in helping businesses with practice management solutions and their compliance.

The financial services industry is constantly changing and the stresses and strains on advisers are greater than ever. SOS gives me the opportunity to help advisers by taking away some of the ‘stuff’ that creates these problems.

The Team

The SOS team is made up of a professional group of people with a very diverse corporate and administrative background. This diversity adds strength to the team because we believe we have ‘seen it all’!  We appreciate the importance of deadlines, confidentiality and consistency of process for a number of reasons, one of the most important being compliance.

Another vital piece of how SOS helps are the marketing opportunities that come from the collection and storage of client information. The team is familiar with all CRM’s within the industry which means we have the ability to help you, no matter what platform you use.
